I know of one skipper who had done X'mas day charter in the past, think of all those (lonely) lucky blokes out there...... 
Poole Sea Angling Centre Cod Competition
This comp is on the 27th Dec if I remember last year it was a double?????
So is this a possible date?

Reminds me of an ex, back in Coventry.
I said I wanted to go to Warwick and fish the river.
She thought it would be a good idea for her and her young son to come.
We could pick up my kids, and make a day of it.
She made sandwiches and off we went.
She wanted me to turn around and face HER !
I said she could lay the rug at the side of me and lay out the sandwiches there while I carried on fishing ( quite reasonable I think )
No ! She emptied a pint of magots on my head and ran off ! ! !
I scooped up as many magots as I could and carried on fishing.
I think that argument lasted about 3 1/2 weeks.
