123 entrants, including 4 Juniors. [108 in 2005]
As is customary for the Open, the prizes were awarded in succession alternating between Round and Flat fish, with the biggest % of specimen size starting the prizes.
However, with only 6 Flat fish recorded this year the remaining prizes after 11th place went to Round fish.

Bob,
Don't forget the B.A.S.S. Catch and Release prize ?
I would also like to take the opportunitly to thank all who organised and planned the event.
Again, thanks Bob for your valiant efforts behind the keyboard both before and especially after the event, meaning that you lost valuable fishing time, often just enough time to squeak out a prize winner!
A great day.
Rich
Ooops! Yes, sorry. Forgot the B.A.S.S trophy.
I thought the inclusion of the B.A.S.S. Catch & Release Prize was an excellent idea.
It brought a welcome new dimension to the competition, and got the competitors thinking about different tactics on the day.
Some competitors were a bit sceptable about the trophy prior to the event, but I was pleased to hear people postively discussing B.A.S.S at the weigh-in and prize giving, and interested in who had won. Even if some of it was at the expense of our Conversation Officer, who mistakingly put a winning fish back without photographing or recording it. ![]()
Anyway, all of this helps B.A.S.S. to promote their cause.
BF
Yes many thanks for all the hard work for all those involved. It can be a thankless task at times. I hope you were all motivated by the excelent turnout and how seamless the day ran.
Thanks again
Gordon

Almost a fifty fifty split, which couldnt really be fairer. Very good to see different faces up at the prize table, too. Roll on Nov 2007!
