Mick, since you’ve retired you have too much time on your hands and have put a bit of logic together and made some sense there.
Careful you maybe asked to oversee a flounder re establishment programme for the harbour. 👍👏
I think you have summed that up, one thing to add is pollution and I think it is a big one.
Apparently the bait draggers have been struggling to get rag worms in Holes Bay. Either they have been over dredged or the amount of rain water in flow into the harbour has made the rag worms go deeper into the mud.
Either way, if there is little food there will be equally fewer fish present!
This may just be a bad year due to the amount of rain we have had. If one thing is for sure,
Mother Nature will sort it out 👍

I think I have an answer, how about using cormorants for pot bait? Win/win?
Terry.
And sharks eat seals too.....now there's a thought for the shark hunters in the club

Catch & release.
Catch outside.
Release in the harbour.
I don't think the Grockles will be impressed though. 😃
I believe that using seals as bait is not allowed. Even in areas with Great Whites and abundant seals.
But I may be wrong.
Besides which, you need them for your outdrive leg Charlie. 😁
We'd be in a mess without seals. 🤪
