Its been two weeks since this competition was postponed

Has the new date been decided

If so, can you let us know, as with notice I can make arrangements with work and crew.

If it is not going to be fished, it would be good to know why.

I haven't got round to re-scheduling it - that's the only reason!

We have a summer species hunt booked for the 20th July - happy to run both

Last weekend's open comp set the bar on species hunting? anyone want to try and better 22 species in one day? or even over 48hrs

So 48Hr Comp will be run weekend 18th - 20th July

Put you name down early and please pay your £5.00 if you wish to enter

Court Jester - Neal + crew TBA

So is the 48hr comp now a species comp?

Looks that way from the post above?

I read them as overlapping comps.......

48 hrs runs the weekend as usual...as a specimen comp., with the pool

Sunday is the species comp.

You could be in both or either.

Sorry I am getting a bit confused now, but I may have missed something while I was on holiday

According to my diary and the calender on here

The 20th July is the Club Ray comp

Clearly it's a 2 day comp where you try to catch the best specimen of the flatfish species? We know they are trying to mix the format up to attract new people! 🙂

So is it a species hunt or a flatfish comp on the 20th? And what format will the 48hr follow?

48 hour comp is as far as I am aware the same format as always ie best specimen so there shouldn't be any confusion there,  the other comp according to the calendar and schedule of comps says flatfish comp so I would assume that's what it is.  Neal will no doubt clarify later today

Apologies I had originally put in my diary a second - summer species hunt.

This was changed in order to separate flatfish / Ray comp into two separate competitions.

For the last few years everyone has targeted rays on the Flatfish / Ray Comp with flatfish of minimal or no size recorded.

With more Plaice likely to be caught in the harbour / between the Piers / Southbourne etc. plus more settled weather in July. It would suit the smaller boats in the club!

The 48 hr comp is totally separate and can run the same weekend.

Hoefully that clarifies the situation - if not I will go through it all again at this Thursdays club meeting
